Jewelry Care Guide

At NYC Luxury, every piece we create is crafted with meticulous attention to detail and built to last. To ensure your jewelry continues to shine with the brilliance it was designed to embody, proper care and maintenance are essential. Whether you wear your pieces daily or on special occasions, we recommend the following care practices to protect your investment and preserve its beauty.

Essential Care Practices

Store Separately

Keep each piece in a soft pouch or individual compartment of a jewelry box to prevent scratches. Avoid tangling chains or stacking items where diamonds or metals may rub against each other.

Remove When Needed

Take off your jewelry before swimming, showering, cleaning, or exercising. Chemicals, chlorine, and abrasive materials can damage both metal and stones.

Last On, First Off

As a rule of thumb, jewelry should be the last thing you put on when getting ready and the first thing you take off. This prevents contact with lotions, hairspray, perfume, and cosmetics, which may dull or discolor metals and Diamonds.

At-Home Care

Most diamond and gold jewelry can be cleaned with a soft-bristle brush and a mixture of warm water and mild, ammonia-free soap. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a lint-free cloth.

Professional Cleaning

We recommend bringing your NYC Luxury jewelry in for professional cleaning and inspection at least once a year to ensure your pieces remain secure and radiant. (pay for secure fast shipping)

Ultrasonic Cleaning Caution

While ultrasonic cleaners can be effective for certain diamonds and hard gemstones, they may loosen prongs or damage fragile stones. Please consult us before using one on your jewelry.

Watches and Custom Timepieces

Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures, strong magnetic fields, and impact. Store watches face-up in their original box or a soft, cushioned surface.

Water-resistant models should be tested and resealed annually.

Clean metal bands with a soft cloth; avoid immersing leather straps.

Cuban Links, Iced-Out Chains & High-Carat Gold

Heavy Gold Jewelry

Thicker cuban links and high-karat gold are softer by nature. Avoid bending or excessive pulling to maintain structure.

Diamond-Set Pieces

Check prongs and settings often, especially on pavé or iced-out items. If you feel a piece catching on fabric, have it inspected immediately.

Storage Tip

Lay cuban chains flat to prevent kinking or permanent bends in the links.

Picture Pendants

Avoid exposure to moisture, and high temperatures as the photo inserts are delicate and can warp or fade over time.

Wipe gently with a microfiber cloth. While they are water resistant it's best to keep as dry as possible.
